Program Description:
The Future Pathways Culinary Program is an exciting afterschool initiative designed to ignite a passion for cooking and culinary arts among middle school students. This program provides a hands-on, interactive learning experience where students in grades 6 through 8 can explore the art of cooking, understand the importance of nutrition, and develop essential life skills.
Students will engage in various culinary activities, including:
Learning fundamental cooking techniques
Exploring diverse cuisines and ingredients
Understanding the principles of nutrition and healthy eating
Developing teamwork and collaboration skills in the kitchen
Enhancing creativity through recipe creation and food presentation
Our skilled instructors will guide students through each session, ensuring a safe and fun environment where they can express their culinary creativity and gain confidence in the kitchen.
By the end of the program, students will not only have improved their cooking skills but also gained valuable knowledge about food and nutrition that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Location: St. Michaels Community Center
Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays, beginning September 9 and ending October 28
Transportation: A bus will transport students from St. Michaels Middle School to the community center
Eligibility: Open to 6th-8th graders
