Programs

Our organization organizes, sponsors, and funds the Tilghman After School Kids (TASK) program, community and school events, monthly cultural assemblies at Tilghman Elementary School (TES), the school yearbook, and more.

Tilghman After School Kids (TASK)

The Tilghman After School Kids Program is designed to provide elementary school-aged students with a stimulating and supportive environment for personal and academic growth beyond the regular school day. Over the last twenty years, TAYA has provided more than 50 diverse enrichment classes for elementary school students through the Tilghman After School Kids program, including courses in gardening, painting, mindfulness, and cooking, as well as STEM-based programs such as Makerspace, Crazy 8’s Math Club, and Lego Challenges. TAYA is committed to fostering a love for learning and encouraging students to explore new interests.

Future Pathways Program

Started in 2023, the Future Pathways Program (FPP) is designed to enrich the middle school experience by igniting students' passions through early exposure to technical and vocational fields, preparing them for future endeavors. FPP incorporates a broad set of career and technology programs, aligning them with the Talbot County Career & Technology Education program. Recently, TAYA has partnered with the St. Michaels Community Center as part of the collective impact initiative to expand Future Pathways access to more middle school students in the Bay Hundred area.

School Readiness Program

The School Readiness Program aims to promote school readiness for children from birth to age four. Through structured yet flexible playgroup activities, the program supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of young children, creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for both children and their families. The School Readiness playgroup includes diverse activities such as storytelling, arts and crafts, music and movement, and interactive play.
