Session 3

Monday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Creative Arts - Join us for a fun-filled creative arts class where stories come to life through hands-on crafts and activities! Each week, we'll read a beloved children's book and create a unique craft inspired by the story. From making vibrant watercolor caterpillars inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar to crafting egg carton turtles and playing a fun stacking game after reading Yertle the Turtle, students will explore storytelling, art, and hands-on learning. This class is a perfect mix of imagination, creativity, and skill-building.


Tuesday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Boot Camp & Sports with Coach CJ Love - Get ready to move, sweat, and have a blast! This class combines the excitement of sports with the discipline and energy of a boot camp, led by ex-military and St. Michaels soccer coach, CJ Love.  Students will engage in fun and challenging activities like calisthenics, agility drills, and team sports, all designed to improve their strength, coordination, and endurance. Along the way, they’ll learn how to stay healthy and active through engaging lessons on fitness, nutrition, and the importance of an active lifestyle.  Coach CJ brings his military experience and passion for sports to create a dynamic, supportive environment where kids can build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love for physical activity.

Wednesday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Karate with Black Belt Instructor Maddy Plog - Black Belt Instructor Maddy Plog is returning to Tilghman to lead an exciting Karate class for all skill levels! This dynamic program focuses on the fundamentals of karate, emphasizing discipline, respect, and self-defense techniques. Under Maddy’s expert guidance, students will learn basic stances, strikes, and forms while building coordination, strength, and focus. Whether you’re new to martial arts or looking to enhance your skills, this class offers a supportive and energetic environment for everyone to grow and have fun!

Thursday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Junior Detectives: Cracking the Case - Step into the shoes of a detective and unravel the mysteries around you! In this exciting hands-on class, young sleuths will dive into the thrilling world of investigation and problem-solving. Students will learn real detective skills such as fingerprinting techniques, decoding secret messages with invisible ink, and mastering cryptography with cipher wheels.  Each session will test their observation skills through fun activities like “find the differences” puzzles and interactive deductive reasoning games. From analyzing clues to solving mini-mysteries, students will sharpen their logical thinking, attention to detail, and teamwork.  Perfect for curious minds and budding problem-solvers, this class will teach students how to think like detectives while having loads of fun.

Friday:

Pre-K-2nd Grade

Tumbling and Gymnastics with Tidewater Gymnastics Coach Karissa Lee - Explore the world of tumbling and gymnastics in this dynamic afterschool class! Led by Tidewater Gymnastics Coach Karissa Lee, students will build strength, flexibility, and confidence while learning fundamental gymnastics skills. From basic tumbling to beginner-level routines, this class is ideal for young athletes of all experience levels. Coach Karissa's expertise and enthusiasm create a supportive and engaging environment where kids can stretch their abilities and shine!

3rd-5th Grade

Stream Geeks Academy - Stream Geeks Academy offers Tilghman Island Elementary students an incredible opportunity to dive into the world of broadcasting and camera technology. In this hands-on program, students will explore cutting-edge equipment in a fully equipped studio and tech lab. They’ll receive lessons in basic computer skills and learn about the various roles involved in creating professional productions. With guidance from industry experts, students will produce and broadcast their creations, sharing their work with the community. This program fosters imagination, creativity, collaboration, and a sense of community giving. It’s an amazing chance for young learners to develop technical skills and unleash their creative potential.

Please note: This class takes place off-site and requires parent or guardian approval for van transportation.

3rd-5th Grade

Creative Expressions with Ms. Martha Donahue - Unleash your creativity in Creative Expressions, an exciting art class where young artists will dive into a variety of hands-on projects. From the vibrant flow of watercolors to the intricate designs of bead crafts, each session brings a new artistic adventure. Students will sculpt with clay, create stunning small mosaics, paint unique objects, and build colorful paper-mache masterpieces. Additionally, one session will be held off-site at STREAM Geeks Academy, where students will explore 3-D printing in a special lesson led by Amy Wise from the Talbot County Public Library. This class encourages self-expression while teaching essential art techniques in a fun, supportive environment. Whether experimenting with color, shape, or texture, students will develop their artistic skills and take home projects they'll be proud to display.

Please note: The 3-D printing class takes place off-site and requires parent or guardian approval for van transportation.

3rd-5th Grade

Life Skills and Adventures with Mr. Jeff Harrison - In this dynamic after school program, boys and girls will build essential life skills, explore American history, and develop leadership qualities through engaging, hands-on activities. Participants will learn about bike safety, flag etiquette, and good citizenship, as well as practice gratitude journaling, emotional intelligence, and proper manners. With special guest speakers and interactive projects, this program is designed to empower students to grow into confident, respectful, and well-rounded individuals. Every session offers a fun and meaningful adventure for all!

Pokemon Club with Ms. Kalynn Fogler - Dive into the exciting world of Pokémon in this fun and interactive afterschool club! Led by Pokémon enthusiast Ms.Kalynn Fogler, this club is perfect for fans of all levels. Whether you're new to Pokémon or already a trainer, you'll learn the basics of Pokémon battles, trading, and collecting, while sharing your love for Pokémon with fellow fans.  Explore strategies, discover favorite characters, and connect with your buddies through games, activities, and discussions about all things Pokémon. Join us to catch 'em all and have a blast!



Pick-Up:  Designations of adults approved to pick up your children must be in writing.  

Bad Weather Policy: If school is dismissed early for any reason, TASK will automatically be canceled and parents should tune into the WCEI radio station.

Scholarships: Programs are open to all children regardless of their ability to pay. PLEASE contact XXXX for scholarships. All requests are strictly confidential. No child will be turned away!

Transportation: Bus transportation is not provided. However, carpool information is provided upon request.

My child has my permission to participate in the Tilghman After School Kids (TASK) Program. I understand that injury is always possible as a result of participation in such an activity.

I hereby release Talbot County Public Schools, the Tilghman Area Youth Association, Inc., and their employees or volunteers from any liability due to injury of any kind that may occur before, during or after said participation in TASK activities. 

I understand that my child is required to participate in a homework segment of the program each day during TASK.
